About Luke Bilger

In September of 2000, I purchased this domain for $1 because of a limited offer. FSTREAMZ.COM started as kind of a joke for me to write about work and make dorky little news articles. It wasn't until July of 2001 that the site really started taking shape with updates and content. Although the site has basically looked the same for 3 years, the content has gotten better (I'd like to think so anyway) and the updates more frequent. This site has been created, maintained, and updated by me and has become a permanent part of my life. I write as if someone out there actually cares what I have to say. Although that is generally a naive assumption on my part, I have received some emails from random people asking for help or advice in certain areas. If you need help, shoot me an email. I almost always respond the same day. If you have aim, add me to your buddy list and IM me. I don't bite.

Career

I was born and raised in the small town of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. Growing up, I had wide open spaces (3 acre front yard with 11 acres of woods behind the house) and fields that separated me from our neighbors which is the exact opposite of what I have now. In January 1996, I started college at Bob Jones University, Greenville SC and graduated with a degree in Mathematics.

I moved to Virginia Beach in May of 2000 to work for Automark, a small start-up company. It was my first job after college and I had to move 400 miles away from home because of it. Automark opened the `programming` door for me after I was accepted for the junior ASP programmer position. I worked for that company for 4 1/2 years and then took a PHP/Coldfusion job working for Trader Electronic Media in October of 2004. I worked there until April of 2006, when I accepted an ASP.NET job with Virginia Technology Group in Williamsburg, VA.

While in Williamsburg, Kristen became pregnant, so in April 2007, I moved us back to Virginia Beach where we had more of a social circle for support along with several doctor's we trusted. After the move, I accepted a partnership in Eyepinch, Inc, a company I had a 4 year relationship with doing freelance work. I'm now a partner/shareholder in that venture and enjoy bossing myself around. I have plenty of experience working with all sorts of languages and databases and have been involved with 200+ websites.

Love and Family

About 5 months after I moved to Virginia Beach, I started dating the girl who is now my wife. I love her so much and thank God for bringing her in my life. After we had been married 3 months, we took the next step and bought a dog, Roxy (a Boston Terrier). In June 2007, we had a boy named Jayden, who is the cutest little bundle of joy I've ever seen. (when he's not crying of course) God has blessed me immensely and I'm so thankful.

Interests

I enjoy football, basketball, coding, online gaming, and photography. I have conservative values which stem from my devout Christian faith. I tend to work too much. I like things to be in order. I simplify as much as I can. I detest large crowds. I love dry hoagies and pizza and asian food. I wish I could clone myself twice and then boss my clones around.
